"The quercetin in one-quarter of an apple is so strong that one study showed that people who ate one-quarter of an apple a day, along with some onion and tea, had half the risk of heart disease of people who did not."    Prevention, Note onion and tea are also good sources of quercetin

"The Dutch study tracked 37,514 people for 13 years in one of the biggest studies on coffee and tea drinking. Tea had a bigger impact than coffee. Those who drank between three and six cups of tea daily were 45 percent less likely to suffer coronary disease than those who drank less than one cup, while with heavy drinkers -- more than six cups -- the risk was reduced by 36 percent. The risk of heart disease was cut by 20 percent among those who drank two to four cups of coffee. The researchers noted coffee drinkers are more likely to smoke. Antioxidants in coffee and tea are responsible for the health benefits.    van der Schouw et al

"Scientists found that the amount of polyphenols in just one cup of green tea improves the all-important endothelial cell function. It does so by scavenging free radicals in just a few hours. And it increases nitric oxide production. These biochemical processes are at the heart and soul of vascular disease. Less nitric oxide and you have higher blood pressure and failing erections. It's not just a matter of smoking. Smoking only accelerates the problems. I've already brought you information on dark chocolate doing the same thing, and it works for smokers as well. So, we see that the powerful polyphenols in plants are what God designed to protect us from our own discretions.   Doctor Robert Rowen MD, Note cocoa can be a substitute for tea. It appears to be the class polyphenol that is the good guy here.

"As in previous studies, a strong link between the beverage and heart-protective qualities was established, most likely a result of the beneficial flavonoid activity in the tea. The research suggests that drinking one to eight cups a day is associated with a reduced risk of chronic disease."    Rodale.com June 23, 2010

"Subjects who received the green tea extract caps had a 60% greater increase in EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) and a 90% greater increase in ECG (epicatechin gallate) compared to those who drank the identical amounts of these green tea constituents in standardized beverage form. The antioxidant effects in those who swallowed the green tea caps were also greater than in the green tea drinkers.    Henning SM, Niu Y, Lee NH, et al. Note check if your extract has fluoride, if not this is probably the way to get your green tea benefits

    

Black Tea

"Consumption of black tea is widely known to improve circulating antioxidant status in humans."   Life Extension

The fluoride in tea can bond with aluminum -- also found in the leaves in small amounts -- making it undetectable by the usual tests. Once he broke that bond, he got the true fluoride levels. He found more than triple the expected amount of fluoride in some tea brands, as much as 9 milligrams per liter well above safe levels for regular consumption.   Doctor William Douglass MD, Note the combination of fluoride and aluminum makes the compound enter your brain, nerves and kidneys much more easily

   

Clinical trials of black tea or its components have shown substantial benefits on the risk factors for arterial stiffening and cardiovascular disease:

  • Endothelial function is improved
  • Cholesterol levels (LDL and total cholesterol) were lowered
  • Inflammatory changes and metabolic toxins that promote endothelial dysfunction can be reduced 
  • Oxidative stress , another major contributor to endothelial dysfunction, is also reduced
  • Large variations in blood pressure  Regular black tea consumption can reduce

      

Black tea has many of the same salubrious properties as green tea. However it can also be high in fluoride and I thus I go light on it. Black tea is said by Doctor Herbert Rowen to be a "cure" of anthrax; so I have a stock of several hundred bags. I would guess you drink continuous cups of black tea as a "cure".

     

Chamomile Tea

Chamomile is second only to Black Tea as the best selling tea in the world. Chamomile is good for your liver (See Liver Protection Protocol) and kidneys (See Kidney Protection Protocol) and thus your skin (See Skin Protection Protocol). Chamomile an anti-inflammatory has a mild sedative effect and is used as a sleep aid. Chamomile is one of the best herbal sources of niacin, magnesium, and essential fatty acids.

    

White Tea

Tea plants suck fluoride and aluminum from the ground slowly, over time -- so the trick is to get the youngest leaves, before they've had a chance to pick up all that poison. White tea -- the youngest tealeaves harvested, is also the healthiest.    Doctor William Douglass MD

IMO if you are sold on green tea, invest in the white tea. It should be lower in both aluminum and fluoride as well as more beneficial than even green.
