Prolotherapy Protocol

“The common thinking about degenerative arthritis is that it occurs due to wear and tear on the joints and is inevitable as we age. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Its root cause is almost always an injury to the soft tissue supporting structures of the joint. In a study of 1,597 individuals who ran an average of 33 miles a week for approximately 16 years there was no evidence of degenerative arthritis. “Only injury causes arthritis. In a study dogs were exercised wearing jackets carrying 130% of their body weight for one year. NO joint injury was found. Exercise is healthy and does not cause injury if done correctly. If an injury occurs it is important to fully treat it until it is healed. The worst things for healing an injury are to take an anti-inflammatory and receive cortisone injections. As Ibuprofen doses increase healing of the articular cartilage decreases. These are the main reasons so many people have articular cartilage problems.” Doctor Ross Hauser MD

“NSAIDs inhibit the synthesis of proteoglycans that are being made in the injured joint by the chondrocytes to heal the articular cartilage damage. The only result that can be obtained from NSAIDs in a patient with articular damage is a guarantee to produce more damage.” Doctor Ross Hauser MD

“Corticosteroids, such as cortisone and prednisone have adverse effects on bone and soft tissue healing. Corticosteroids inactivate vitamin D. Corticosteroids inhibit the release of HGH. Ultimately corticosteroids lead to a decrease in bone, ligament and tendon strength. A cortisone shot can permanently damage joints. Cortisone is dangerous because it inhibits just about every aspect of healing.” Doctor Ross Hauser MD

Prolotherapy is Precisely Targeted Induced Inflammation Also see (RICE Protocol)

Prolotherapy allows a doctor to inject a harmless solution into a damaged joint or other weakened body structure that promotes tendon, ligament and other articular tissue healing, revitalizing, strengthening and tightening the structure.

Prolotherapy is a procedure that must be performed by a doctor with experience in the protocol. The injections must be made with precision so a doc who knows his anatomy and has a soft touch with a long needle is a must.

 

Who Should Consider Prolotherapy

If you have a single joint that is painful and arthritis supplementation does not work IMO check out prolotherapy.

   

Prolotherapy Works

Several studies prove that Prolotherapy works. In one study, 88% who took the therapy saw improvement. In another study, Prolotherapy was found to actually increase tendon and ligament strength by as much as 100%.

If I had a “Bad Back”, “Bum Knee”, “Weak Ankle”, “Sports Injury" (See Sports Injury Protocol) or any chronic joint, muscular or arthritic problem I would definitely check this treatment out.

  

IMO Always try Prolotherapy BEFORE Surgery

  • Better Results

  • Less Risk

  • Less Trauma

  • Quicker

  • Cheaper

Cutting tissue out of a joint is almost always a poor idea IMO. In 2% of joint injury cases surgery may be required to reconnect a ligament or tendon which has been 100% severed. 98% of all joint injury does not involve 100% severing of anything. It will pay you to do some research before surgery; most IMO are NOT required.

  

Get Prolotherapy Doctor Ross Hauser’s Book

First get and read the latest edition of the book by an experienced practitioner. IMO you do need to read this book if you are seriously considering Prolotherapy because Prolotherapy requires a lot from the patient for best results. The book will help you to locate a good Prolotherapy specialist in your area. This book will also bring you up to speed in many aspects of your musculoskeletal, pain control and other aspects of your health. Prolo your pain away

IMO if you look into prolotherapy be sure to ask about this addition of ozone to the protocol. It should solve the pain and repeat treatment problems of standard Prolotherapy.
