How to DO One Hundred Pushups Protocol

     

I heard a news flash stating that middle aged men that could do 40 or more pushups would live considerably longer than those who could not.  

So naturally I dropped down to bat out 40 or more. I was crest fallen when I bogged out at less than 25. How could this be; I was in good shape. I could bat out 100 in Basic Training?

     

Why Do 100 Pushups?

So why do 100 pushups? As an old man of 80 chronological years of age I can tell you one thing. At 80 you do not want to be 80 especially if you are in good shape and can do most of everything you want to do. So what do you do? You recapture many of those things philologically you did at 20. AND this you can and IMO should do. Most fit men of 20 NOW cannot do 100 pushups. BINGO!

If figured it would not be easy to do 100 pushups. Bango!

I have plenty of time to LEARN how to do 100 pushups. Bongo!

Here is how I went back to Basic Pushup Training

  • Start at any number of good form pushups you can easily do, as few as ONE. If you cannot do one start from your KNEES. Many women will need to start from their knees; no shame in this. Women need to be fit as well as men. Just stay with it and soon you will be doing more than your man; not for long though. You will shame him into keeping up. LOL

  • Keep a LIST on a Living Room Wall recording the number of pushups you can do and your weekly progress. People will ask what the list designates. Tell them.

  • On Monday do ONE (for example)

  • On Tuesday do some pushups to a comfortable amount

  • On Wednesday do ONE

  • On Thursday do some pushups to a comfortable amount

  • On Friday do ONE

  • On Saturday do 2/3 or so of the number of pushups you did on Friday. Do this at least twice, more times is better

  • On Sunday do 2/3 or so of the same number of pushups you did on Friday. Do this at least twice, more times is better

  • If you cannot complete the Saturday and Sunday's number of pushups REPEAT the previous week. If you find you are having trouble advancing work in some extra pushups during the week.

  • At the start of the next week (Monday) add one pushup to the number done on the previous Friday.

  • Don't be in a hurry to add more pushups; your goal should be to ADVANCE; slowly if necessary; don't quit.

  • In a relatively few MONTHS you will be doing a lot more pushups than the National Average.

  • I decided to go for 100 but who knows

  • After a couple months I can feel my arms and chest EXPANDING; great feeling.

I found I had to add more pushups to advance each week Here is how I did it.

  • When I was up to say 30; I would do a warm up course of 10 and a second warm up course of 20  before doing the 30 pushup target for the day. Wait a couple hours after your last warm-up, to do your target number of pushups.

  • Extending this practice I now do about 10 less than my current target, several times on my off days. for example when up to 40 pushups, I did 30 pushups at least 2 or 3 times every day between 40 and 41.
