L-Arginine Protocol

    

Please assure a good supply of this CRITICAL amino acid

        

“When researchers tested ArginMax, a sexual-enhancement supplement that contains ginkgo, ginseng and L-Arginine, 80 percent of the male subjects had improved erection function, while 74 percent of the female subjects reported more libido, less dryness and greater frequency of orgasm.”  University of Hawaii and Stanford University

“The effectiveness of L-Arginine for HBP relates to its ability to directly produce nitric oxide a vasodilator produced in the arteries.”  Brunini et al

“L-Arginine supplementation may address some cardiovascular risks associated with decreased nitric oxide synthesis.” Fried et al

“Both L-Arginine and forearm exercises increased the body’s vasodilatation by about 400% each and when added together by about 450%.” Hambrecht et al

“L-Arginine produced a four fold increase in blood vessel dilation.” Hambrecht et al

“L-arginine is an essential amino acid that is present in many foods and it is also a precursor of Nitric Oxide production. Studies have shown that arginine, when taken in proper amounts, can stimulate NO production. In a 1999 study, 30 impotent men were given 1500 mg of arginine each per day. It was shown that is worked no better than the placebo in terms of vasodilatation and sexual performance. However, when 21 men with mild to moderate impotence were given 3,000mg a day of arginine, significant improvement in erection as well as sexual satisfaction was reported. This study was published in the December 1998 issue of Hawaii Medical Journal. It is obvious that the use of arginine as a nitric oxide precursor is dose dependant, and a low dose regiment will not be effective.” Doctor Michael Lam MD , Note using too low a dose is often a technique used to defame natural salubrious substances in "trials" run by big pharma stooges such as the NIH and CDC

"After twelve-weeks of supplementation, body weight gain in the rats receiving the high fat diet was 40 percent lower among those that received arginine compared with the control group. For rats on the low fat diet, weight gain was 60 percent lower in the arginine group compared with those that received alanine. White fat pad weight increased by 98 percent in animals that received alanine; while in animals that received L-arginine the increase averaged only 35 percent. Arginine supplementation was also associated with lower serum leptin, glucose, triglycerides, urea, glutamine, and branched chain amino acids, as well as improved glucose tolerance." L-Arginine is an amino acid (See Amino Acid Protocol) present in the proteins of all life forms. It is classified as a semi-essential or conditionally essential amino acid. This means that under normal circumstances your body can synthesize sufficient L-Arginine to meet physiological demands. Some stress conditions that put an increased demand on the body for the synthesis of L-Arginine include trauma (including surgical trauma), sepsis and burns. Under these conditions, L-Arginine becomes essential, and it is then very important to ensure adequate dietary intake of the amino acid to meet the increased physiological demands created by these situations. L-Arginine may also have wound-repair activity. Many of L-Arginine's physiological activities, including its possible anti-atherogenic actions, may be accounted for by its ESSENTIAL role as a precursor to nitric oxide (See Nitric Oxide Protocol) production.

Whey and Amino Acid Supplements

Several studies have shown that whey helps you absorb amino acids. I always try to take my amino acid supplements first thing in the morning with a glass of whey.

   

Here are the foods highest in L-Arginine

As we age often our utilization of L-Arginine becomes less efficient resulting in less nitric oxide production than is required for robust good health. L-Arginine supplementation may provide a powerful assist for us aging athletes. I believe this is my situation. Although I eat LOTS of L-Arginine food sources I often supplement.

Doses of about 5 - 10 grams of L-Arginine have been found to be effective for various applications, while some recommend a daily maintenance dose of 2 grams. I often take 5 -10 grams of L-Arginine. I take supplemental (See Supplement Protocol) L-Arginine with my HGH Protocol (See HGH Protocol). As with all amino acids, take L-Arginine on an empty stomach with some whey.

  

Caution: L-Arginine should only be taken by healthy non-pregnant non-lactating adults. See your doctor if in doubt. Always take L-Arginine with lots of antioxidants. If you have frequent herpes outbreaks you should research the relationship between L-Arginine and herpes, L-Arginine seems to encourage herpes outbreaks.
