In the Zutphen Elderly Study, which
involved 210 men aged 70-89 years a linear relation was found between the
estimated intake of DHA and EPA and prevention of cognitive decline. A DHA+EPA
intake of approximately 380 mg per day seemed to prevent cognitive decline.
This amount of DHA+EPA would be found in just 20 grams (just 2/3 of one ounce)
of Chinook salmon. Van
Gelder BM, Tijhuis M, et al. Two studies published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that a diet high in omega-3 fatty acids can actually prevent
cognitive decline. “Magnesium

What age is old? You can climb mountains at 80; you can stay in bed at 40. Old is as old does. No matter your chronological age you can function younger with some work. IMO it is very important to think of “Age” as composed of two components 1) Chronological Age and 2) Functional Age. We can do little about chronological age but enjoy it as it slips by. Our functional age is what we should constantly be working on. Please don’t let “Old Age” be your excuse for avoidable health problems.Still we all get old sooner or later if we are lucky. Please get old healthy.

Vitamin D and Dementia
The simple primal act of getting LOTS of the high noon sun on your bare “unprotected” skin in large amounts just may be the most important single thing you can do for your health. If the sun casts a shadow longer than you are tall you cannot make adequate vitamin D from the sun. You MUST take vitamin D3 at the daily rate of about 1000 IU/20 pounds of body weight.
