Arterial Plaque Protocol
BOTTOM LINE: Please take at least about three grams of vitamin C per day, assure you eat NO supermarket oils or junk food and eat fresh and you will obviate most arterial plaque
"If God didn’t make it; don’t eat it.” Doctor Robert Rowen MD
“The
discovery of the vulnerable plaque is an astonishing new breakthrough in
cardiac research and explains why there has never been a significant reduction
in heart attacks or deaths in surgical patients. It also lends itself to a
kinder, non-invasive, supplement-based protocol that can give men and women
immediate protection against heart attacks and strokes.”
Doctor Garry F. Gordon,
MD, DO “The frequency of the
arterial plaque pathomechanism today is directly related to its efficacy as a
defense mechanism during the evolution of man, particularly in stabilizing the
vascular wall during ascorbate deficiency.” Doctor Matthias Rath “My discovery of the Ice Age -
vitamin deficiency - cardiovascular disease connection will eventually lead to
the eradication of heart attacks, strokes and related cardiovascular diseases.” Doctor Matthias Rath “If benign materials such as vitamin C are
available to repair the injured artery the need for lipoprotein(a)
is moot. Without adequate amounts of vitamin C lipoprotein(a)
becomes indispensable.”
Doctor Matthias Rath “The deposition of lipoprotein(a) in the form of largely intact particles
implies the reversibility of the arterial plaque mechanism.” “Lioprotein(a) is ten times more dangerous
than LDL.” Doctor
Matthias Rath “Scurvy must have killed many, many
people during the ice ages when vitamin C was almost impossible to obtain in
quantities sufficient for health. For the survival of the species it is better
to die directly or indirectly of arterial plaque after reproducing than to die
of scurvy before we have reproduced. If Doctors Rath and Pauling’s theory is
correct they lead the way to cure the most prolific killer in “Both garlic and HDL were able to reduce plaque formation and size within 30
minutes of incubation in these experiments. Existing plaques were dissolved by
up to 25% within 15 minutes after the garlic was introduced, indicating a
reversal of existing problems related to build-up of arterial plaque. In
addition, calcification of the cholesterol docking sites in the arteries was
reduced by up to 50% in the presence of the garlic extracts.” Professor Guautnter Siegel,
M.D., “Oxidation of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) is a primary
initiating event in the development of atherosclerosis. LDL oxidation occurs
when oxidants such as peroxynitrite radical, iron ascorbate, and copper
ascorbate modify LDL particles. Once LDL is oxidized, it can no longer be
recognized by LDL receptors, but instead is targeted by scavenger receptors on
macro-phages, leading to the formation of lipid-filled foam cells observed in
atherosclerotic lesions.” Life Extension “Studies have also shown that Lp(a) holds fast to damaged blood vessel, attracting other Lp(a) molecules, and finally constituting the atherosclerotic plaques. In fact, a high Lp(a) level (more than 30 mg/dl) has been revealed to carry a 10 times greater risks for heart disease than LDL cholesterol level.” Doctor Michael Lam MD “Circling the world in the 1920s and 30s, Doctor Price and
his wife found the same sinister pattern among “primitive” populations, whether
isolated Irish fishermen, tribal Africans, Pacific Islanders, Eskimos, North
and South American Indians or Australian Aborigines. Those groups that followed
their traditional nature-based diets enjoyed good health and vigor and those
that turned to the ‘civilized’ diet of processed, sugar-laden foods soon
developed a variety of ills, including misshapen bones and teeth-and the
situation worsened with each generation.” Doctor Robert M. Cathcart MD
"The amino acids L-lysine and L-proline competitively interfere with the binding of lipoprotein(a) to constituents of the vascular wall and atherosclerotic lesions. The therapeutic use of these amino acids could prevent further buildup of lipoprotein(a) accumulation in the vascular wall. More importantly, optimum concentrations of L-lysine and L-proline could release deposited lipoprotein(a) but also other atherogenic lipoproteins form the vascular wall." Doctor Matthias Rath
"Excessive clotting and vascular disease resulting from high levels of
lipoprotein (a) can be reversed by iodine treatment.”
"The study also found that cholesterol esters (chemically attached fatty

Atherosclerosis "Atherosclerosis is the result of injury to the extremely thin layer of endothelial cells that line the inside surface (the lumina) of the heart and blood vessel walls. Circulatory toxins such as smoke, free radicals, sugar and infection cause these injuries. Numerous established studies have confirmed that an impaired endothelial function is linked to all major coronary heart diseases." Doctor Michael Lam MD, Note here is the key initiating event, prevent this injury and you prevent much CVD "Gerhard Spiteller, who has
investigated EFAs and their degradation products—specifically, the influence
of these substances in mammalian physiology—concluded that consumption of
oxidized PUFA-cholesterol esters is responsible for the initial damage to
endothelial cells and that cholesterol oxidation products are incorporated
into LDL-C in the liver. LDL carries these toxic compounds into the
endothelial walls where they cause cell damage, and thus injury is not
caused by an increase in free cholesterol but by an increase in oxidized
cholesterol esters."
"Irrespective of the
pathomechanisms of human atherogenesis they can largely be prevented by
maintaining the structural integrity, stability, and elasticity of the
vascular wall."
Doctor Matthias Rath All of the current theories of atherogenesis posit some form of LDL particle entering the dysfunctional arterial wall. As Doctor Rath states above if we keep this from happening there will be no atherosclerosis. Vitamin C, vitamin E, omega EFAs, collagen, other antioxidants and preventing successful attacks on the vascular wall are the means to keep our vascular walls intact.
IMO a simple three pronged approach may prevent much CVD "Ascorbate deficiency is an important underlying factor and that all mechanisms known today leading to CVD can be triggered by ascorbate deficiency." Doctor Matthias Rath, Note ascorbate is vitamin C in it's complete form as found in nature, ascorbic acid is a component of ascorbate
“Doctor Willis found that people taking 1,500mg of vitamin C a day for 12 months reversed plaque while those who didn't take vitamin C had worsening plaque. When you lack vitamin C, cracks and lesions form in the walls of your blood vessels. When blood vessels break down, arterial plaques fortify the weakness and "repair" the damage. But when these arterial plaques become too thick, they block the flow of blood. And a lack of blood to the heart triggers a heart attack - and a lack of blood to the brain causes a stroke.” Doctor Al Sears MD
Vitamin C "A high Lp(a) level (more than 30 mg/dl) has been revealed to carry a 10 times greater risks for heart disease than LDL cholesterol level.” Doctor Michael Lam MD, Note Lp(a) ONLY becomes elevated when you have let your vitamin C levels fall. 1) You must take at least 3 grams of vitamin C/day (See Vitamin C Protocol) as supplemental vitamin C and get all the ascorbate, natural vitamin C, from your food as you can. Raw food is best as vitamin C is destroyed by heat. Processed Vegetable Oil
"Elevated rates of cancer and heart disease are associated with consumption
of large amounts of vegetable oils.” Fed Proc July 1978 37:2215 2) You must totally avoid denatured Omega EFAs found largely as denatured Omega 6 EFAs in processed vegetable oil (See Polyunsaturated Oils Protocol). Junk food is often made from this denatured processed vegetable oil or it's hydrogenated siblings. Homocysteine
3) You must avoid all
How the Initial Break in the Artery Wall is Facilitated "What if the cholesterol structure in the arterial intima contained significant amounts of oxidized or nonfunctional parent omega-6 attributable largely to ingestion of foods containing LA oxidized or otherwise damaged in the course of routine food processing, before any in vivo oxidation? We know that the intima consists of a single layer of endothelial cells containing significant LA, but no ALA. Consumed, processed LA deposited in arterial intimal cell membranes leads to abnormal oxidation at the vascular injury site, thus causing injurious inflammation. In this case, abnormal oxidation involves formation of a hydroperoxide from LA. What else could cause LA in the endothelial cells to become oxidized? Could significant amounts of LA already defective from routine food processing transported by LDL-C be the real culprit?" Brian Peskin PhD, Note LA is omega 6 EFA. IMO Brian has nailed the initial break in the endothelial layer it is often from the processed defective vegetable oil we are consuming by the 100,000 of tons. The endothelial cells are constructed with this inferior fat. Thank you Brian you have done what 100s of Billions of "Research" could not or was not allowed to do “Animal
fats contain many nutrients that protect against cancer and heart disease;
elevated rates of cancer and heart disease are associated with consumption of
large amounts of vegetable oils.” Fed Proc July 1978 37:2215
“Research has demonstrated that
homocysteine causes oxidative stress to the vascular endothelium and that
maintaining healthy levels of homocysteine is important for heart health.”
Doctor Al Sears
MD
IMO it is clear that the (highly
processed denatured omega 6 oils) and
What is Arterial Plaque?
"For decades, saturated fat was incorrectly believed to be
Arterial
plaque comes in at least two forms 1)
Hard
Arterial Plaque 2)
The
Vulnerable Plaque
Hard Arterial Plaque “Lioprotein(a) is ten times more dangerous
than LDL.” Doctor
Matthias Rath Just what is hard arterial
plaque? This question is important because the answer will clear up several
important health concerns. Hard arterial plaque is the term for a condition
that usually starts as a small cut to your endothelium which lines your inner
artery wall. These cuts occur as a normal part of living, although as we will
see the stronger your collagen and better your levels of vitamins C, vitamin E,
and omega EFAs the
fewer cuts you will probably get. However many of these cuts you get your body must repair them all with the
materials YOU have given it for these repairs. If you have plenty of vitamin C
and omega EFAs your body will use them to repair the cut. The repair made will be smooth and in a few days you will not able to tell the cut
was ever there. The tissue will be completely healed just as cut on your finger
heals with no scar or trace. If you do not have enough vitamin C your body will use lipoprotein(a) to repair the cut. This cut repair made with lipoprotein(a) is termed an “Atherosclerotic Lesion”. “Human atherosclerotic lesions are
primarily composed of lipoprotein(a)” Doctor Matthias Rath A newly formed arterial plaque is primarily composed of lipoprotein(a), immune system proteins and fibrinogen
(See
Fibrinogen Protocol)/fibrin. Once an arterial plaque has formed lipids
including the dreaded LDL and calcium are attracted and
bound into the plaque.
Note healthy LDL does not initiate the plaque formation. Mature arterial plaque is composed of 50% calcium,
oxidized polyunsaturated fatty acids and 3% lipoprotein(a). Human atherosclerotic lesions are based on lipoprotein(a). Lipoprotein(a) acts
as a protective healer for cuts and bruises in the arterial wall most likely
weakened by lack of vitamin C and insufficient omega EFAs, just like a scab forms over external cuts. “Isolated LDL deposition are
rarely found in newly formed arterial plaque and LDL alone, without
simultaneous lipoprotein(a) deposition, cannot be
considered a primary factor determining the advancement of human
atherosclerotic lesions.”
Doctor Matthias Rath
Why is Hard
Arterial Plaque required? "Ascorbate deficiency is an important underlying factor and that all mechanisms known today leading to CVD can be triggered by ascorbate deficiency. The different mechanisms of human CVD known today therefore all compensate for impaired integrity and stability of the vascular wall caused by chronically low dietary ascorbate intake. If these mechanisms overshoot, heart attack, stroke and other forms of CVD develop. " Doctor Matthias Rath, Note ascorbate is vitamin C in it's complete form as found in nature, ascorbic acid is a component of ascorbate
Lipoprotein(a) is the backup for vitamin C in the
repair of your arteries. When your levels
of vitamin C drop your levels of lipoprotein(a) grow.
Vitamin C leaves an arterial wound repair which is smooth and does not grow. If you do not give your body enough
vitamin C, at least about three grams per day to be safe IMO, your body is forced to use lipoprotein(a) to make TEMPORARY
repairs of the wounds to your arteries. Which
repair would you like?
The
Temporary arterial wound repair made with lipoprotein(a)
is DESIGNED to grow into hard arterial plaque The hard arterial plaque is a crude
plug which keeps you from bleeding to death since you have been foolish enough
not to have supplied your body with enough vitamin C.
This process is designed to be a TEMPORARY fix and is required because YOU have
let your levels of vitamin C drop too low or have otherwise weakened your
arteries. You are mandated to ingest LOTS of vitamin C and otherwise assure
good collagen (See Collagen Protocol) production and proper sound artery
construction SOON. “If benign materials such as vitamin C are
available to repair the injured artery the need for Lp(a)
is moot. Without adequate amounts of vitamin C Lp(a)
becomes indispensable.”
Doctor Matthias Rath This temporary repair process
can turn into Atherosclerosis IF you do not get your vitamin C levels elevated
and otherwise assure good collagen production. Doctor
Matthias Rath explains how this
process likely evolved as a response to chronic low ascorbate ingestion during
early ice ages.
Low ascorbate ingestion during the ice ages past and
arterial plaque
Lipoprotein(a) has been
implicated in these seriously negative health conditions
The Vulnerable Plaque "The progression of atherosclerotic deposits is paralleled by a structural impairment of the vascular wall and by the accumulation of lipoprotein(a)." Doctor Matthias Rath, Note Doctor Rath is telling us there is no fundamental causal difference between hard and soft plaque initiation "It was also found that cholesterol esters (chemically attached fatty acid structures) are the predominant lipid fraction in all plaque types, and that both cholesterol and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), in particular, abundant parent omega-6, may form oxidized derivatives that are toxic to most types of arterial cells. Most interesting is the conclusion that arterial plaque rupture, which can cause thrombosis and vessel occlusion and increase the potential for myocardial infarction and stroke, was significantly related to oxidation of the LA." Brian Peskin PhDIn recent years there has
been an important cardiovascular discovery called the vulnerable plaque.
The
vulnerable plaque is a soft counterpart of the hard atherosclerotic plaque we
have known about for decades.
Vulnerable plaque occurs in the inner surface of your artery and does not block
the blood flow thru the artery just as the hard arterial plaque does. Your body treats vulnerable plaque as an
infection site and creates a capsule to shield it from the blood flow. If this
capsule is ruptured it may help cause a heart attack or stroke.
